The Church Tenets of Faith

As a general rule, we accept the Bible Baptist Articles of Faith which bears the first paragraph: “A Bible Baptist is one who believes in a supernatural Bible, which tells of a supernatural Christ - Who had a supernatural birth, Who spoke supernatural Words, Who performed supernatural miracles, Who lived a supernatural life, Who died a supernatural death, Who rose in supernatural splendor, Who intercedes as a supernatural Priest, and Who will one day return in supernatural kingdom on the earth.”

  • The Bible as verbally and plenary inspired by the Holy Spirit (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:19-21; Psalms 119).
  • Salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone and repentance of sins (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 5:1; 3:22-26; Galatians 3:1-13)
  • The virgin birth of Christ (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23). Atonement through the shed blood of Christ (Isaiah 1:18; I John 1:7; Hebrews 9:22; Revelations 1:5; 5:9; Romans 3:25; 5:9)
  • The character of the true God. Only the God of the Bible.
  • He is eternal (Psalms 90:2)
  • He is infinite (I Kings 8:27; Job 11:7-9)
  • He is sovereign (Isaiah 46:9-18)
  • He is omniscient (Psalms 147:5)
  • He is omnipotent (Jeremiah 32:27)
  • He is omnipresent (Jeremiah 23:24)
  • He is immutable (Hebrews 13:8; James 1:17)
  • He is the Judge (Genesis 18:25; Romans 14:18)
  • He is just in all His dealings (Numbers 14:18; Revelations 20:12; Galatians 6:2)
  • He is absolutely holy (Habakkuk 1:3; Job 42:6; Isaiah 6:5)
  • He is loving and merciful (Ephesians 2:4)
  • The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit (John 16:7-11; Genesis 1:1-3; Ephesians 1:13-14; Romans 8:26-27; II Thessalonians 2:13) .
  • The personality of Satan and the reality of sin (Isaiah 14:12; Ezekiel 28:14-17; Revelations 12:10; 20:1-3).
  • The punishment of the wicked in hell and the eternal happiness of the righteous in heaven (Romans 6:17-18; I Corinthians 15:22; Acts 10:34-35; Galatians 3:10).
  • The Baptist Church as the only kind of church the Lord Jesus Christ established (Matthew 16:18; 18:19-20).
  • The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 24; Luke 21; I Thessalonians 4:13-18).
  • The Sovereign Grace of God (Romans 9:12-33)
  • The grace of giving (Malachi 3:10; I Corinthians 16:2; II Corinthians 8:1-8; Proverbs 3:9-10; Nehemiah 10:35; Ezra 3:5; Acts 4:34-37)
